EEI Joins U.S. Business Leaders in Supporting Global Energy Efficiency Goals COP30

DENVER – Dec. 9, 2025 – EEI, a nationally recognized commissioning and sustainability firm dedicated to enhancing building systems performance, announced today its participation in a landmark initiative to double the global rate of energy efficiency improvements by 2030. The firm joins more than 180 U.S. businesses and organizations in signing the U.S. Private Sector Letter in Support of Doubling Energy Efficiency, a goal established by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and championed by the Alliance to Save Energy and the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE).

This announcement comes as global leaders gathered last month in Belém, Brazil for the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30), a pivotal climate summit marking the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement. With energy efficiency emerging as one of the most powerful and underleveraged tools for climate action, the letter signals unified support from across the energy value chain to scale proven solutions and accelerate measurable impact.

“As a consulting firm focusing on building performance, EEI sees every day how efficiency translates into measurable outcomes including energy, carbon and water reduction, while providing increased resiliency for long term stable operations,” said Blake Hickok, President/CEO at EEI. “Efficiency is not abstract. It is real, verifiable and achievable with today’s technologies.”

The industry letter, delivered to COP30 President Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, represents a diverse coalition across the energy value chain including manufacturers, construction firms, engineering and commissioning providers, clean-energy developers, ESCOs and technology innovators. Together, these organizations affirm that energy efficiency is not optional it is essential to achieving climate goals while strengthening economic competitiveness. According to the International Energy Agency, doubling the global rate of energy efficiency improvements by 2030 can:

  • Lower energy bills in advanced economies by one-third
  • Create 4.5 million new jobs
  • Deliver 40% of the emissions reductions needed to meet Paris Agreement commitments
  • Strengthen grid resilience and energy security

By signing this letter, EEI reinforces its commitment to:

  • Advance high-performance buildings across commercial sectors
  • Support policies that accelerate energy-efficient design and construction
  • Bring practical, engineering-driven solutions to market at scale
  • Partner with clients, contractors and policymakers to achieve measurable outcomes

“We are honored to stand alongside organizations nationwide that share this commitment and proud to contribute our expertise to the collective effort,” added Hickok.

COP30 is a pivotal moment, but the real work happens in the buildings, campuses and facilities designed, constructed and operated every day. EEI remains committed to bringing technical rigor, practical solutions and measurable results to the challenges ahead.
