Project Profile

Washington State Convention Center Summit Building

Location: Seattle, Washington

The Summit Building is an extraordinary addition to the Washington State Convention Center that is projected to add over $200 million in tourism annually and bring almost 4,000 new jobs to Seattle. The building has 1.2 million SF of convention floor, 250,000 SF of parking and retail, and a 60,000 SF ballroom. EEI commissioned the Summit Building and a 500,000 SF office tower plus a 400-unit residential tower adjacent to this project.

EEI’s scope includes commissioning this entire facility, including the parking and atrium areas. We provided our services per LEED Platinum certification criteria for the mechanical and electrical systems.

The most challenging portion of our work was performing atrium smoke control and HVAC Cx due to this type of space’s multi-story and open-air nature. We accomplished this, and other aspects of our scope through strong collaboration with the entire project team through integrated systems testing.
